Phones-Off
Phones-Off™ is committed to achieving and maintaining
a balance between cell phone use and personal space.
Phones-Off™ was created after the founder was
rear-ended by a woman who was talking on her cell phone.

It’s an exciting experience when you get your first cell
phone and you make that call. There’s no denying that
there is something space-age about it. However, after the
cellular excitement fades, many people do not give any
thought to where they are or what they are doing when
they use their cell phone. Even the automobile has been
transformed into a moving telephone booth, and having a
hand on a cell phone seems to have become more
important than having that hand on the steering wheel.

While recently on vacation and enjoying a leisurely lunch
along side a tranquil bay, I was suddenly snapped to
attention by the man at a table behind me. He was
howling into his cell phone,  “Hey dude,” he screamed.
“I’m in par-a-dise, the sky is sooo blue and bee-u-ti-ful.”
Every person in the café turned around and was looking
at him in disbelief, but no one uttered a word to him.
Instead as he continued howling into his cell phone, each
patron quickly paid the tab and fled, thus leaving the
Howler in complete control of the café.

What has become of human interaction and common
courtesy for others?  Cell phones are used at
cash
registers, gyms, business counters, doctor's offices,
theaters,  schools,concerts,
and virtually any other place
you can think of.

Cell phones should never be used or answered when
interacting with another person, and should only be
used outside of most places of business.  Calls should be
completed before stepping into a place of business or by
stepping outside to receive an incoming call.  By extending
a few simple considerations towards others, we can maintain
a balance between cellular use and personal space.
Howler™:
1  One who screams
into the cell phone.
2  One who thinks others
are interested in his/ her
